Bassily hall is the main university auditorium. It accommodates 1,255 people on two levels in a theater-style tiered fixed seating.  It is suitable for international conferences, symposia, meetings, seminars, concerts, presentations and performances.

We were requested to upgrade the sound system, to full fill the various applications of the auditorium.

 

The proposed project below was modelled using L-ACOUSTICS acoustic prediction software, SOUNDVISION, developed for sound designers.

SOUNDVISION is dedicated to the acoustical and mechanical simulation of L-ACOUSTICS systems (WST line arrays and coaxial point source technologies) which is allows the calculation of sound pressure level (SPL) coverage, SPL mapping and delay coverage (or mapping) for complex sound system and venue configurations. Either horizontal (plan) or vertical (cut) views can be selected to enter room coordinates or to define loudspeaker placement/aiming. Impact coverage, SPL mapping or delay is then based on direct sound calculation over defined audience geometry.

 

System Presentation:-

  • Two main arrays (Left-Right) each composed of 7 KARAi & 2 SB18i
  • Delay arrays (Left-Right) each composed of 4 KARAi & 1SB18i
  • Ground stacked subwoofers each composed of 2SB28
  • Front fills mounted along the front of the stage 8 X8

  • 14 KARAi 2-way modular WST® enclosure installation version
  • 4 SB18i High power compact subwoofer: 1 x 18” installation version
  • 4 M-BUMPi Multi-system flying bumper KARAi SB18i
  • 5 LA4X Amplified controller with PFC 4 x 1000 W /8 Ohms. Ethernet network

 

 

Floor Subwoofers

  • 4 SB28 High power subwoofer: 2 x 18”
  • 1 LA8 Amplified controller 4 x 1800 W/4 Ohms. Ethernet network. AES/EBU

 

Front Fills

  • 8 X8 2-way passive coaxial enclosure: 8” LF + 1,5” HF diaphragm
  • 8 X-UL8 Long U-bracket for X8
  • 1 LA4X Amplified controller with PFC 4 x 1000 W /8 Ohms. Ethernet network.
